What is a good camel score?

The honest answer: any score that gets shared. The nerdy answer: let's talk distributions.

The range, again

Scores run from 34 to 104 camels: 20 starter camels plus 7 answers worth +2 to +12 each. The full breakdown is in the score guide. Five title bands cover the range, from Desert Drifter (34–48) to Sultan of the Sands (93–104).

Where most people land

Here's a fun bit of arithmetic: if you answered every question at random, your expected score would be 20 + 7 × 7 = 69 camels — a solid Oasis Regular. Real humans don't answer randomly, but the math says the middle of the herd is around 60–75. If you landed in Caravan Companion or Oasis Regular territory, congratulations: you are statistically normal, which is the nicest thing a joke quiz can say about you.

What counts as rare

Above 90 means near-maximum answers on almost everything — the snacks, the memes, the water-finding, all of it. Below 40 is equally rare and requires committed modesty across the board. Both extremes are achievements in their own way; the middle is where the caravan lives.

And because the formula is deterministic, rarity is real here — a 99 isn't luck, it's seven very confident answers. (Some calculators randomize scores, which makes every number meaningless. Ours doesn't. You're welcome.)

So what's "good"?

Fictionally speaking: 79+ (Dune VIP and up) is screenshot territory — the range where people start sending the result unprompted. 93+ (Sultan of the Sands) is group-chat legend status.

Actually speaking: the best score is the one worth sharing. A 52 that starts an argument about whether "idea person" deserves +2 or +12 has outperformed a 101 that nobody sees. The quiz even gives you the tools — copy text, native share, WhatsApp/X/Telegram, a downloadable image card — because a camel score kept to yourself is just a number. A camel score in the group chat is content.

The only bad score

There isn't one. But if you got a number you dispute, remember: the breakdown on your result screen shows exactly where every camel came from. Retake it, change the answers you object to, and watch the math move. That's not cheating — that's the entire point of retaking.
